up north

The last week of summer vacation, I drove up to Santa Cruz and San Gregorio to visit my sisters, Tiffany and Nicole.  Just me and the boys (until we drove home and Joe flew into Monterey to drive home with us because he missed us so much).  I have a ton of photos and much to share but I am determined not to go to bed at midnight again and it is already 20 minutes after 11.  And I still have dishes I want done.  So for now, I will share one pic of each of the boys that I love. 

We stayed with Tiffany and her new husband (tiff, you have a 'husband'... that word just sounds weird all of a sudden) Thomas and then we went to Nicole's to visit her and her husband (ok, seriously that sounds weird now) and baby Willa.  We had a really great time and I can't wait to do it again next summer.  Everyone was really happy to get home though.

Tucker started seventh grade at a new middle school a few days ago and Dallon is whooping up the last few days left of his summer before he starts this coming Tuesday.  I've always loved summer... loved having my boys home.  But usually ready for school to start and get back into some routine.  As they get older though, I hate the end of summer.  I LOVE not having to be bound by time.  And school just doesn't mesh well with that plan.  For now, Slater and I will just have to do as we please by ourselves:)

I have a bunch of other photoshoots to post too.  As well as some sidebar updates.  I need to get on the ball here.  The cool thing is that I have a new microsoft outlook with the calendar and to-do lists and it is seriously helping so much.  I don't think I will forget anything... as long as I enter it.

And I just put the first picture up and the colors are muted again!! WHY??  Dallon looks gray!  It really is a cute picture of him.  I have a new computer but I am not sure why that would happen... and I am using lightroom which is awesome.  Maybe something with that.   

a little different

I was playing around with one of Tucker's photos and I really like this one. I was just looking at my photo albums and things on the sidebars and they are really dated!  I think I will do an overhaul once school is back in.  Dang it is muted again... I need to figure that out too.  I wonder what changed.

So clearly I haven't really changed the main content like I thought I would.  I think it will be more photo shares and maybe some everyday stuff.  It'll be random and I'll just leave it at that:P

hidden spots

The other day I read a message board thread about finding hidden spots wherever you are and getting great photographs.  So yesterday I had my boys and my friend Kristina's boys and they were skateboarding around the block and I was walking with Slater.  I was noticing tons of places that would be awesome just on our little square block. 

Here are two different spots. Dallon wouldn't sit still or come over to where I was so he missed getting in the single shots.  I have a group one or two that I like but I haven't fixed them up yet.  So for now, here are River, Zane and Tucker.... After getting these loaded, the colors seem washed out.  Not sure why because they aren't in photoshop.  Hmmm...

visitors

We had tons of visitors this summer.  It was really a lot of fun but tiring too.  Joe's brother Dave came to visit with his wife Judi and their baby Gunner.  We did a beach shoot and I just finished getting them all together (in the mail tomorrow Dave & Judi).  I hadn't looked at them since they left a few weeks ago and there were so many I loved.  The first one on the left is probably my favorite of them all.  Maybe even a new 'family' favorite.  Here are a few.
